Check out this progress!
And then there are these...the left bathing suit is a large and from last year. The right is a medium and is from this month (February)! My skin is smoother, I am slimmer, and I am happier :)
These three pictures are all from November, December and February as progress shots to show consistency in my fuel and workouts.
This one is a bottom shot. My goal here is to lift...it's still a work in progress...
Here's to the next workout! Until then...
April
Today I felt bad. I had been sinus infection kind of sick for almost a week. I decided to at least try since I already paid for the event and went out there. I sounded horrible, but still I was going to run it anyway, if for nothing else to at least say I participated.
It was a brisk morning and the more I was outside the better I could breathe, funny how that happens. I was doing pretty good the whole way through. I didn't walk once, even though I felt kind of wheezy at times. I was a slight bit disappointed when I finished and it was only 6.05 miles long! I know that I only had 0.15 left, but I really didn't feel like making up the difference when I got done. So, this did not count on my Garmin as an actual 10K, but my time was pretty amazing!
I ran 6.05 miles in 54:54 with a pace of 9:05! I would have potentially ran the 6.20 miles in 55:54 based on it took me 20 seconds to run the .05, so to add 3 more would add another minute to my time. You can view my route here.
I had a great foundation to go off of for my next 10K, the Azalea Trail Run! Check me out after the race. I didn't win any awards or place, but my time was great for me!
I love the handmade medals the best! Here's to the next workout! Until then...
April
I came out today to do my best and potentially meet or beat my 5K time from the weekend before (the Joe Cain 5K).
I was very proud of myself when I crossed the finish line, but noticed that the course was not quite a 5K so I kept running until I got the the right point (just an extra 0.15).
I ran this 5K race in 26:21 with a pace of 8:30! You can view my route here. I was super pumped as I was just the second girl to finish and was in the top 7 people! I could not believe I had run it that fast, especially since Mobile's course was much flatter than this course. This was also a color run, so I got some great color added to my shirt while I ran! Check me out! I'm on the left! haha Not too dirty :)
This was an excellent run. It was cool, but not terrible. I felt great and was proud of my time. I enjoy beating myself on races! Here's to the next workout! Until then...
April
Today was the day! I was ready for this race. I did it last year and felt the "want" to beat myself. Here is what I did...
2015, I ran the 5K in 29:33, that is a pace of 9:31 per mile.
2016, I ran the 5K in 26:28, that is a pace of 8:28 per mile! I beat myself by a minute per mile! I was super excited when I finished! I not only beat my time from the year before by over 3 minutes, but I also reached a goal of running a 5K in under 27 minutes.
Check out this cook shirt, and me when I was done!
I was very proud of myself for this one! Here's to the next workout. Until then...
