I have not been good AT ALL posting my progress with my workouts! I will include several on here that are about a month old. Since the Running in Red race:
I have had 8 softball games (and I have another one tonight), they are every Tuesday night
On October 2nd, I swam 650 yards in a 30 minute workout [I did 50 yards, 100 yards, 300 yards, and then 200 yards]
On October 13th I did the Mighty Magnolia Triathlon!! I was very proud of myself! My goal was to complete the 1/3 mile swim, 16.5 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run in under 2 hours and...I did it in 1:56:48! I did the swim in 12:41, the bike in 1:05:01, and the run in 35:51. I did this race for the first time last year in 2:23:29, which put me at decreasing my time by 26:41! I was super proud of myself and look to decrease that time again next year :) I also felt better after the race this year than last year. At least I was able to walk and talk...last year I slept for hours after!! hahaha The races I have committed myself to is not about trying to beat someone else. It is not about whether I place or come in last. It is about the participation, the accomplishment, and the belief in myself that I actually can do it! Then, once I have done it I can compare myself to no one but me...and show myself that I can do better every time I try!
My goal now is to survive the Spartan Race this Saturday, November 10th! I am not prepared for this event, but I will do my best and have fun. After this weekend, I will begin to train for my first ever half marathon! It will be April 6, 2013 in Los Angeles California! I am super excited and I am looking forward to adding to my collection of races :) Here's to the next workout, which for me is tonight! Until next time...
