What is more enticing than registering for a race and getting into a water park for free!! Well, I did it! I went to Gulfport and met some friends to do the Pursuit of Fun Run. It was a 5K, flat and fast. I, however, was not so fast! I did ok...and after talking smack about how Nike plus likes to delete my work outs...I deleted my workout my accident from Map My Run! BUT...what I LOVE about map my run is that it still logged my gps workout, I just didn't have my splits. BUT, still, I remembered my splits so I filled it in after. So, in all...no biggy!
I ran the 3.14 run in 30:07, which was a pace of 9:35. Not terrible, but I really am shooting for a 28:00 or less 5K! I will get there. I am doing so much better than I did when I started. It just takes time. Thanks to the gps tracker, you can view my route here. It was a good morning for a run and we had a blast after at the water park! It was a great and relaxing finish to a great workout! Here's to the next workout! Until then...

A week of softball and gardening leads to running remorse...
After 2 days of softball games and getting our flowerbeds redone (by us!) I was kind of pooped to get out and run or even swim at work! I did, however get to running on the 15th, between 2 more softball days! I did, however get very tired during my after work run...at 4:00...with the sun blazing!! I got in 2.01 good miles and then it hit me...I HAD to walk.
Well, I didn't have to, but it was a good idea to go ahead and walk. So, I completed my first 2.01 mile workout and then walked 0.55 of a mile and then ran 0.46 to complete 1.01 mile. You can view my routes here and here. I ran the 2.01 miles in 19:16 with a pace of 9:35 and walked 0.55 in 8:57 and then ran the last 0.46 in 4:26 finishing in 13:22. Not too bad considering I walked a half of a mile in the middle. My total run was 3.02 with a time of 32:38, which is an average pace of 10:48. Even for me averaging between 1 minute and 1:30 faster than that, this is still not a terrible time! I am just glad I got out and ran something...anything!
It feels good when I run and writing about it makes me want to get up and go...right now!! Here's to the next workout! Until then...

2.62 mini-marathon Boston Tribute Run
I was very excited for this day to arrive! Scott, Khloe and I were going to participate in the Boston tribute run in our hometown. It was a great cause and reason to get out and exercise! It was a run through the avenues closer to downtown by the park and zoo. I was very excited and got off to a great start! I maintained my pace until the end and ran the 2.62 run in 24:10, 2 minutes faster than just 2 days before! I was very excited to have closure that Tuesday was just a bad run day! My pace was 9:14 and it felt great when I got done! You can view my route here.
I encourage you to run for a cause. Get up and run for someone who can't, it is highly motivating! I try to make all of my races intentional, meaning I am not just running a race to run. I am running in place of someone who can't, or in honor of someone who can't. Running for a cause is great...try it sometime if you haven't!
Here's to the next workout! Until then...
